8 strategically placed vents actively capture airflow and pass it through the interior cooling channels – developed to keep you cool on your long rides.
Looks great and is decently comfortable! (I've only had it a week so far) Minor considerations: --Sizes run large. If your head is 59cm (like mine) and you're between sizes, get the Medium. There is enough space for me to wear a cap under it. --More round than oval. For my head I can tell it is wider than fits my skull, which normally there is padding to accommodate. The padding is thin under the plastic shell and they don't provide peel-n-stick bonus cushions. Probably can buy those at a local bike shop.
Very comfortable and high quality! Very happy with this!
I had a bike accident with my helmet. There was ice, I lost stability and hit the iced ground with rear part of my head (it wasn't a small hit). Then slided several meters on that ice. The helmet was visibly damaged but my head was OK! No injury, no concussion! So I have happily bought a new one for me and also an another one for my partner. Thanks a lot for such great helmet!
I've been bike commuting everyday for the past year. Rain or snow, I wear this helmet while riding to work, buy groceries, run errands, hang out with friends, etc. I think with this amount of time and can write a well informed review. I originally bought this helmet because I wanted the MIPS technology, the Thousand Style, and the Magnetic Light. Here are some things I like about this helmet: - MIPS technology does make me feel safer (I have a fragile brain after many car accidents), but I haven't had any use of it yet (thankfully!) - Comfortable! The easy adjustment system and one-handed chinstrap is magical, perfect fit everytime. - I'm not sure why they changed the style so much from the classic Thousand helmet, but this style has grown on me. Some improvements - The magnetic light is kind of a joke. Anytime it sticks to a magnetic surface, it automatically turns on. Seems like a good idea, except it makes turning it off difficult. You can't turn the light off, then put it on the helmet; you have to turn it off on the helmet. Difficult while wearing it since you can't really tell if it's on or off. As well it has horrible battery life, my lord. Probably less than 30 minutes, and I don't trust it to last long enough for my commute, which is really a shame. I would 1000% buy an upgrade, but no such upgrade exists and the helmet is expensive as is. - The helmet hole with the pop-lid has a very fragile string attaching it. Fell off after a few months. Not really a big deal, but why include it? Feels like having a hole in the helmet isn't really a big deal. - I find the visor is far too stubby for any adequate sun protection, unless I intentionally tilt my helmet forward significantly. wish there was a longer visor upgrade.
I like the helmet design i gave 4 stars but not the MAGNETIC LIGHT worked only once... I need to charge it every time i need to use. Not worthy for $145. Should improve the magnetic light.
Comfortable, easy to adjust and fasten, looks good, magnetic removable red still/flashing rechargeable light on back of helmet...what's not to like, the best.
Really like the features incorporated into the helmet. Here in South Carolina I always were a helmet with a visor due to the summer sun. The magnetic rear light is awesome as I’m an after dark commuter during the winter months. Fit is good with my headsweat skull cap. Would like to see thousand allow the rider to pick the visor instead of having to purchase it after the fact.
I bought these for my partner and I as a gift and we couldn’t be happier switching to Thousand helmets! So comfortable, easy to adjust straps/buckle, great colors, and most of all great protection!
Fits fine. Looks cool. The magnetic snap is not easy to do one handed. The magnet might be a good idea, but sometimes I struggle to get it lined up right in my hand. Comes apart easy. A huge problem? No. But if it makes me more likely to just not use the chinstrap at all, it defeats the purpose. Ymmv.
I wear during commute day and night as well as in trails after work or weekends. Appreciate the lights for visibility/safety. I always have them on. Easy to adjust as i like to wear band when it’s too windy or cold.
